The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) held a workshop for operators at TRA’s headquarters in the Seef District.
The purpose of the workshop was to highlight to mobile operators the methodologies that TRA will undertake in their upcoming Mobile Network Audit, the results of which will be included in the TRA’s Annual Mobile Quality of Service Report which is expected to be published before the end of the year.
Among the aspects that the audit will cover, include measurements of mobile operators’ compliance with the coverage terms set out in their licenses. The audit will also cover measurements of voice and data accessibility across the kingdom’s main roads, as well as population coverage according to population density. There will also be stationary tests of mobile broadband infrastructure for each mobile operator’s respective networks and voice call tests indoors, outdoors and in moving vehicles. Also included in the audit are SMS, Web Browsing, Video Streaming, OTT services such as popular social media apps, billing and more.
TRA’s Annual Mobile Quality of Service Report will be published during December 2017 where the results of the audit will be available for public viewing.Back to News Listing
